Computers use video cards to render graphics. Gaming and multimedia applications contain code that tells the video card what images it needs the card to create on the screen. NVIDIA video cards feature a control panel that provides options users can change to streamline how graphics appear on the monitor. While most people can use the default settings without problem, business professionals working in multimedia, gaming and related industries often need to make changes to the graphics configuration to better suit their needs.
When I bring up the nVidia control panel, it doesn't have any of the
color controls like brightness and contrast. The help file says I should select 'Display' from the initial 'Select a Category' page, but the only thing I get for 'Display' is 'Multiple Displays'. Except for that, it's an empty page. And I only have one display, so that doesn't do anything either. This is a Presario SR2002X, originally with XP. The Vista upgrade DVD had an option to either upgrade XP or install Vista clean. I did a clean install. I also went to hp.com and downloaded the latest nVidia GeForce driver, version 7.15.10.9734, and installed it. So, what's happened to the color controls? Is there some way to get them working?
